Jose Mourinho has confirmed he will rest players that have played the most over the April period for Manchester United’s visit to Arsenal on Sunday in preparation for the second leg against Celta Vigo next week.
Man United, following nine games over April, found themselves inundated by an injury crisis ahead of their visit to Celta, with seven first team players likely to miss out.
Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling did manage to return in time, but fatigue and subsequent proneness to injury continues to pervade this United squad.
And Mourinho, speaking after his side’s 1-0 win over Celta in Spain, noted that he would rest key players against Arsenal.
Mourinho says he'll rest the players who have played the most minutes over April will be rested at the weekend.

If the Portuguese is indeed true to his word about resting players that featured regularly over April then the likes of Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Antonio Valencia will all sit out of the trip to the Emirates.
That leaves Mourinho with a potentially makeshift set of options for the clash with Arsene Wenger’s men, but this is the kind of brutal pragmatism one needs towards the climax of the season.
Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Michael Carrick and Anthony Martial will all most likely receive a chance to feature. Perhaps even Axel Tuanzebe, after weeks of seemingly almost breaching the senior side, will finally receive his opportunity to feature in the Premier League.
