Manchester United fans have expressed their delight with Axel Tuanzebe‘s performance during their side’s 0-0 draw with Southampton on Wednesday night.
The 19-year-old, who made his Premier League debut against Arsenal earlier this month, was handed his third successive start at Saint Mary’s.
And Tuanzebe, featuring alongside Marouane Fellaini in midfield, looked right at home from minute one, hardly losing possession and confidently finding teammates until being withdrawn for Michael Carrick after 60 minutes.
Supporters were quick to heap praise on the youngster following another promising display.
I like this Tuanzebe kid.. rate him highly

Tuanzebe like watching a young Rio in midfield. Done very well again, hopefully gets a chance at centre half on Sunday.

I know it won't happen but I'd start Tuanzebe next Wednesday.

The level of intensity of this game is too much for Tuanzebe but, he's a bright kid #mufc

There is something irrefutably satisfying about the simplicity with which Tuanzebe goes about his game in midfield. Everyone else on the pitch has been – to varying extents – furnished and emboldened by past triumphs, and as a result attempt, in one way or another, to stick out, to build on what they already have. Everyone else, you sense, has a footballing ego.
This is not what it feels like with Tuanzebe: at this nascent stage of his senior career he is at base level, and the emphasis in solely on mastering the basics, picking up the ball calmly and sensibly moving it on whilst working hard to remain open, ready to do the same again, always learning and watching.
Seeing him do exactly that at Saint Mary’s, whilst also impressing with some important defensive work, was a rare speck of goodness on an otherwise abject evening on the south coast.
