Rio Ferdinand has warned Manchester United Ajax’s young players will not be distracted by the occasion of the Europa League final when they play in Stockholm.

The Dutch side fielded the youngest side in Eredivisie history with Peter Bosz building one of Europe’s most exciting teams for the future.

He insists a young team is fearless and it could be a problem for United if they get ahead of themselves as they’re favourites to lift the trophy.

Speaking about the side, Ferdinand claims United should be careful of the kids as they’re young, quick and hungry.

“The pace and energy in this [Ajax] team will be a concern for United,” he said. “More importantly, with young players comes a fearless factor.

“Their attacking players are the threats. They’re young, quick and hungry kids.

“There’s extra pressure, definitely. They have to handle that [pressure] and get on with it, and concentrate on what it is they need to do to win.”

Ajax have a dangerous group of players and United will need to be cautious in their most important fixture of the season, because it won’t be easy to beat Ajax.

With Champions League football on the cards, the pressure will be on and United will need to ensure they come out on top.
