Rio Ferdinand believes Wayne Rooney will leave Manchester United during the summer following a disappointing season under Jose Mourinho.
The Englishman lost his automatic starter role for club and country this campaign and had been heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit earlier in the term.
He released a statement on his future, claiming he was committed to the cause underneath the Portuguese boss and would make a decision over his future this summer.
Speaking about a potential move, Ferdinand claims it could be time for Rooney to move on.
Mourinho has previously spoken about Rooney’s future, claiming he would love for the Englishman to stay at the club as the experience he brings cannot be matched by any other player.
He will always be a legend at the club but his performances as of recently have just not been good enough with others in the side proving they have much more to offer.
Rooney will be looking for more regular game time as he’s in the latter stages of his career and the question is whether he’ll get that at Old Trafford.
