Matteo Darmian‘s representatives are set to hold talks over his future at Manchester United with Jose Mourinho.
He has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford after failing to cement his place in Jose Mourinho’s starting line-up, even though he did have a role to play while others were ruled out.
The defender has received interest from a host of Serie A clubs including Roma, AC Milan and Inter Milan fancy bringing him back to Italy.
Reports claim Darmian’s representatives are due to hold talks with the Portuguese boss to determine where he fits into the current squad.
He is under contract until 2019 and insists he is happy at the club after playing a role in the team for the Europa League final.
After a disappointing campaign, Darmian put in an incredibly impressive performance in the victory over Ajax in Stockholm, proving he has what it takes to perform.
He still needs to work on his consistency but it’s something that will come with time as there’s no doubt he has what it takes to become a top player.
Even with his dry patch, Darmian has still gone on to make 68 appearances in all competitions for the club and it’s clear he has a role to play.
