Jose Mourinho confident of keeping goalkeeper David De Gea at Manchester United this summer despite revived interest from Real Madrid, according to multiple sources.

The Spaniard was heavily linked with a move to Real in the summer of 2015, however, a deal collapsed in the dying minutes of transfer deadline day and the Spanish club have been forced to keep tabs on him since.

De Gea is said to be very happy with life at Old Trafford under the Portuguese boss and clearly believes in his manager as he’s looking forward to playing a role in the squad that will be in the Champions League next season.

He has two years left on his current contract at United with an option to extend for another year, it’s a great standing for United as they can’t be forced into selling their star asset.

De Gea has been incredible in between the sticks this season, making 45 appearances for the club and although he sat out the Europa League final for Sergio Romero, it’s clear that he’s focused on the future and believes Mourinho is capable of building a team of players that can challenge for silverware.
