Michael Owen believes Manchester United can sign two world-class players in the summer transfer window.
He insists there is a good chance Jose Mourinho will sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer after he claimed he’s prepared to leave and win silverware, rating his chances of a transfer with a 60 percent chance of him arriving at Old Trafford.
Man United will look to invest in new talent after securing their return to the Champions League football and Mourinho will be building a squad which is capable of challenging for silverware on different fronts.
Speaking about the team, Owen claims the side should be able to sign some brilliant names this summer.
“They might get Griezmann and one other [world-class player],” Owen said.
“Last summer, they got Pogba and Ibra. If they get to world-class players, that’s a lot of money to spend.”
Griezmann has only won the Spanish Super Cup during a three-year stay at Atletico Madrid and would be an excellent addition at United.
Mourinho signed the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly last summer, filling gaps in the side, and there’s no doubt we’re in for a similar summer window.
