Zlatan Ibrahimovic will hold talks with Manchester United about his future this summer as he wishes to stay at Old Trafford, according to Telegraph.
He is sidelined for up to nine months after rupturing the anterior and posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during Man United’s Europa League quarter-final against Anderlecht in April.
With his contract due to expire at the end of the month, he’ll undergo talks over his plans as he continues his rehabilitation, although there is an option to extend Ibrahimovic’s deal by another 12 months.
He’s been working incredibly hard to regain fitness and the efforts he has gone to take care of himself are clearly paying off as he’s already releasing clips on social media of him training with a ball.
The club are aware of his impact on and off the pitch last season, and with 28 goals across all competitions, it was clear that he was going on to big things even though supporters were unaware he’d be able to cope with the intensity in England.
There has been interest from Major League Soccer with several clubs interested in signing Zlatan, but his agent, Mino Raiola has confirmed he would like to remain at Old Trafford.
