Turkish giants Trabzonspor have reached an advanced stage in their negotiations with Manchester United over the transfer of Marouane Fellaini, according to reports.

Fotomac claim talks between both clubs are progressing but that a deal has not yet been reached as they remain keen on making a marquee signing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the club.

Fellaini has just 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to be offered a new deal, but a deal remains unlikely as United paid €32 million for him in 2014 and will be looking to get as much as possible for a potential deal.

The 28-year-old has impressed Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford this season, establishing himself as a first-team player and has proven that he has something to offer after kickstarting his career under the Portuguese boss.

He claimed earlier in the week that he would refuse to rule out a move to China and hinted that he would be open to a move in the future.

Fellaini has made 47 appearances for United in all competitions this season and has scored 15 times, providing nine assists in 133 games since joining United from Everton.

Although a move may be in talks, it’s highly unlikely Mourinho will let Fellaini leave, a player that said he would break his foot for the boss and has quickly made himself a favourite in Mourinho’s team.
