Gianluca Di Marzio: Inter Milan reject £35m Man United bid for Ivan Perisic

Gianluca Di Marzio claims Manchester United have had a £35m bid for Ivan Perisic rejected by Inter Milan.

He claims Jose Mourinho wants the Croatia international at Old Trafford as Inter need to balance their books or must pay a £6.1m fine for breaking UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

Perisic was one of their most impressive performers following a disappointing campaign finishing in seventh-place finish last season.

Although Di Marzio claims they would rather sell Marcelo Brozovic, Ever Banega, Jeison Murillo or Andrea Ranocchia to balance the books.

He’s also been linked with a potential move to Chelsea following his showings at the San Siro, however, Man United are said to hold the strongest interest in luring the 28-year-old away from Inter Milan.

The decision was said to be made to keep incoming boss Luciano Spalletti happy, as the Italian is set to fly out to China to confirm his appointment with Inter Milan’s investors.

Perisic is thought to be central to his plans and it’s quite surprising that a potential move has come so far after Man United were forced into switching their interest from Antione Griezmann to a new No.9 with Zlatan Ibrahimovic ruled out.
