SL Benfica say goodbye to Victor Lindelof with video tribute before Manchester United transfer

SL Benfica have published a video with a message of thanks to Victor Lindelof for his services prior to him completing a move to Manchester United this week.

On Saturday night, both Man United and Benfica announced a deal worth €35m had been agreed between the clubs with his medical set to take place this week as well as finalising the details about his personal terms.

And Benfica wanted to thank Lindelof in their own way for how he has played at the Portuguese club, especially after another title winning season from them. Here is a video from Benfica’s official Twitter account thanking Lindelof:

The excitement among United fans is building. Are we really going to have two potentially top drawer centre-backs in the squad for next season? Somebody to partner Eric Bailly properly? Yes Jose, pop out the champagne.

Lindelof is somebody not all United fans would have watched in action all too much but he’s gained the nickname of ‘Iceman’ for his cool, calm defensive style – what a perfect style that would be to balance against Bailly’s aggressive style of play.

We’ll find out soon enough how good Lindelof is but first things first is the official announcement, so Wednesday needs to hurry up and come around.
