Jose Mourinho has told six players to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
Man United are expected to spend big this summer as the Portuguese boss overhauls the squad with the return of Champions League football at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese boss is also looking to turn the side into contenders for the Premier League title following a disappointing sixth-placed finish this season.
He has already signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, however, deals for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata and Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic are still in negotiations.
Mourinho has allegedly told six players they’re free to leave Old Trafford this summer as he looks set to clear up some space for the new arrivals.
While there isn’t a confirmation on who has been asked to leave, Wayne Rooney was named as he wants his contract at Old Trafford paid up before taking his career elsewhere.
Rooney hasn’t been the same player in recent years and it’s a shame to see a club legend out in such a way, however, others on the team have proven they have more to offer and at this point, he’s being paid over £250,000-a-week to watch from the sidelines.
