Victor Lindelof to complete Manchester United medical within 48 hours – report

Victor Lindelof is set to undergo a medical at Manchester United within the next 48 hours after a fee was agreed with Benfica last weekend, according to reports.

It was confirmed last Saturday that a deal for the Swede, believed to be worth £30.7m, had been agreed between Man United and the Portuguese champions.

Lindelof will fly to Manchester soon after he completes his international commitments with Sweden as they visit Norway for a World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night.

And according to the Mail Online‘s Jack Gaughan and Mike Keegan, the 22-year-old is expected at Carrington on Wednesday for a medical ahead of an official announcement, which will arrive on Thursday at the latest.

Jose Mourinho’s first move last summer was to secure the serivices of an imposing, highly promising 22-year-old who had just enjoyed a strong campaign in the form of Eric Bailly – a move that has proven to be crucial – and supporters will be delighted to see the Portuguese opt for the same strategy once again.

Known as the ‘Ice Man’, Lindelof compliments his naturally imposing physique with an air of quiet assurance that has seen him already outgrow the Primeira Liga after just two seasons, and the prospect of seeing him line up alongside Bailly is tantalising to say the very least.
