Zlatan Ibrahimovic confident he’ll be fit by the end of the year – report

Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes that he can fully recover from his anterior cruciate ligament injury by December, according to reports.

The Swede suffered an abrupt end to the 2016/17 season after damaging his knee ligaments during Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Anderlecht in the Europa League.

He was, in turn, officially released by the club last week, but could be offered a short-term deal until the end of the 2017/18 campaign if he recovers well.

And according to Sport in a Storm, the 35-year-old is confident of making a complete recovery by December – just eight months after going under the knife.

Knee ligament injuries are always complicated, arduous afflictions, and the injury Zlatan picked up usually warrants a nine month period away before first team action can even be considered.

Then again, as I have said on several occasions, the Swede is a truly unique phenomenon who spent last season emphatically silencing those who deemed him too old for the Premier League.

Unfortunately, though, he may have to go through the same process again if he does elect to see out the remainder of next season with Manchester United – this time to demonstrate that even a potentially career-ending injury is not enough to dampen his explosive influence.
