Gareth Bale has no intention of leaving Real Madrid this summer – report

Gareth Bale has no intention of leaving Real Madrid over the summer despite attracting interest from Manchester United, according to reports.

Recent reports have claimed that Zinedine Zidane, following a frustrating campaign hallmarked by persistent injury for the Welshman, was willing to let him leave at the right price.

Alvaro Morata, who has endured a likewise frustrating campaign at the Bernabeu and will, according to reports, complete a move to Man United soon, has even encouraged Bale to join him at Old Trafford.

But according to the Mail Online‘s Jack Gaughan, the 27-year-old has no interest in pursuing a move away this summer and will instead focus on eradicating any injury concerns ahead of pre-season.

Bale has, for whatever reason, never managed to fully unshackle himself from the claws of injury during his time in Spain. His calf injury in April, which meant he could only manage a place on the bench for Madrid’s 4-1 triumph over Juventus in Cardiff earlier this month, was his eighth since arriving in Spain four years ago.

This would, I imagine, precipitate something of a groundhog day mindset, with the next injury bound to be just around the corner. That is the reality of a mindset belonging to an injury prone player, and perhaps breaking the cycle with a move elsewhere could be a potential solution.
