Pepe encourages Cristiano Ronaldo to pick Paris Saint Germain over Manchester United

Real Madrid and Portugal defender Pepe has encouraged Cristiano Ronaldo to snub a move to Manchester United and join him at Paris Saint Germain instead, according to reports from Spain.

Sources at Sky Sports revealed last week that the 32-year-old, amid allegations of tax fraud, no longer wanted to play in La Liga.

He would prefer a move to Old Trafford and recently admitted to missing life in Manchester, but PSG have made it clear that they are willing to match any price offered by Ed Woodward and Co.

And Pepe, a close friend of Ronaldo and seemingly bound for a move to PSG, will attempt to convince Ronaldo to join him in Paris as the pair embark on the Confederations Cup.

Ronaldo has, by the looks of things, been subject to calls from a variety of people since it was revealed he would leave Madrid this summer: Zinedine Zidane, Sergio Ramos and now Pepe have all weighed in on the issue.

I’m not sure when the Portuguese ever gets a chance for some headspace – a chance to think quietly to himself and ponder the next step, but that – as opposed to teammates in his ear – is exactly what he needs over the next few weeks.
