Manchester United fans have reacted enthusiastically to the prospect of signing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski this summer.
Sources at Sky Sports confirmed earlier today that Man United and Chelsea held talks with the Pole’s representatives over a possible move to the Premier League.
His agent, Maik Barthel, noted that the 28-year-old “was disappointed as I have ever seen him before” after Carlo Ancelotti made no effort to help him become the Bundesliga top scorer towards the end of last season.
Man United fans were notably delighted, but also somewhat cautious, in response to the news.

I say cautious because, well, let’s face it, Lewandowski has always been an elusive figure for United, seemingly always linked to the club but never actually interested in anything other than demolishing lesser sides in the Bundesliga.
The early consensus states that Chelsea are a preferred next destination for striker, but with Romelu Lukaku bound for a return to Stamford Bridge you wonder whether Antonio Conte, especially with Diego Costa in the mix, would shell out big on two more strikers.
United, on the other hand, may see Lewandowski as a back-up option if the deal for Alvaro Morata falls through.
