Anderson Talisca’s agent Jesse Carvalho has completely denied his player has already agreed personal terms with Manchester United.
Reports this week from Turkey suggested Talisca, 23, had agreed terms with Man United over a move to Old Trafford this summer. An official from Benfica denied that was the case and his agent Carvalho has now come out and reiterated the same thing.
Speaking to Portuguese newspaper Record, Carvalho said: “I have no idea where that came from.”
I think we’re all starting to feel like pawns in a bad game of transfer chess these days. You can imagine how the conversation might have gone between Talisca and his agent.
“Right Anderson, got a great idea. We’ll pretend you’ve agreed personal terms with United, Benfica and Besiktas will deny it and then we will too but then we’re in a great position to negotiate over a better deal. You in?”
Maybe I’m being overly cynical but this is what a lot of the news is starting to feel like this summer. It’s starting to drag a bit and the transfer window isn’t even officially open yet, it’s going to be a long couple of months until it closes at the end of August.
Will Anderson Talisca be playing in the red of United next season? Well, I’m sure he’d love but as I said this has got the hallmarks of a player who was never linked with United simply using us to leverage their own power in negotiations.
