Juventus scout Javier Ribalta is joining Jose Mourinho’s backroom staff at Manchester United this summer, reports Gianluca di Marzio.
Ribalta, who is Spanish, is currently Head of Scouting at Juventus and they’ve been a very good force in the transfer market over the last few years. He’s certainly got a strong reputation as one of the best in the business.

Juventus have officially confirmed Ribalta’s departure and speaking about his decision to leave, Ribalta said: “It has been a wonderful few years here. My thanks go to all involved with the club, particulalry [sic] Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici for the faith they have shown in me since day one. I will look back on my time at Juventus with great pleasure.”
Mourinho’s scouts certainly showed they know what they are doing when we plucked out Eric Bailly last summer and the arrival of Ribalta will only go to strengthen United’s scouting network. He’s a man with great experience at an elite European club, so it would be a bit of a coup for Mourinho to bring him in at United.
Two Champions League finals and a horde of Serie A titles have come in the last five years Ribalta has been at Juventus and they’ve built up a fierce reputation in the transfer market, so this really does look like an excellent addition to Mourinho’s staff.
