Manchester United have tabled a lucrative offer for Roma and Belgium midfielder Radja Nainggolan that would see the Belgian earn £6.6m per season after tax, according to reports from Italy.
Reports last month claimed that Jose Mourinho had expressed an interest in the Belgian international, who caught the eyes of many at Euro 2016.
The 29-year-old, who scored 15 goals from midfield for the Serie A side last season, would reportedly prefer a move to Man United if he ended up leaving the Stadio della Roma this summer.
And according to Italian outlet Il Tempo (via Daily Star), Nainggolan – who has noted he would make a decision over his future once he returns from holiday – will have to weigh up what promises to be an extremely lucrative deal tabled by Mourinho and Co.
No central midfielder managed to reach double figures last season, with Paul Pogba coming the closest with nine, and United dropped off in the Premier League as a result.
The last United side that claimed the Premier League title saw players from all over the pitch – including Rafael and Patrice Evra – scoring goals, and the arrival of Nainggolan, whose capacity to surge forward from deep and make decisive contributions, has clearly caught Mourinho’s attention, would be a nod in that direction.
