Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata has taken a break from his honeymoon and returned to the Spanish capital to help speed up his move to Manchester United, according to reports from Spain.
Formal negotiations between Man United and the Champions League winners begun last week, with the Spanish side demanding a fee of around €80m for the 24-year-old.
And according to AS Spain, Morata will take a break from his honeymoon in Ibiza to speed up the move before re-uniting with his newly wedded wife later this week.
It was thought by many that the Spaniard would have completed a move to Old Trafford by now after his agent, Juanma Lopez, confirmed he would move away from the Bernabeu at the start of the month.
However, the unfortunate timing of rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo’s desire to leave, along with Morata getting married, has slowed up the deal. Madrid are also hellbent on receiving an optimal fee for the 24-year-old in order to fund their bid for AS Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.
But with Ronaldo’s reported unrest now in the past and Morata returning to Madrid, supporters can expect this deal to speed up over the next few days.
