Wayne Rooney is ready to stay at Manchester United until the end of the 2018-19 season, according to reports.

He has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford after struggling for first-team football under Jose Mourinho, losing his automatic starter status for both club and country in the 2016-17 campaign.

Rooney is currently not in a rush to leave and reports claim he could trigger a 12-month extension on his £300,000-a-week salary which would see him stay with the club until the summer of 2019.

Man United are thought to be prepared to offer Rooney a £10m goodbye present this summer, as Everton have been interested in his services, he’s still unsure about moves to China and America.

He’s aware he could triple that bonus by sitting tight at Old Trafford and after becoming Man United’s all-time leading scorer with 253 goals, he wouldn’t be forced to leave.

Even though he only scored 25 Premier League appearances during the 2016-17 season, Mourinho has previously stated that he’d love to keep Rooney at the club, although fans don’t agree as the Englishman has just not been the same in recent years.
