Manchester United are set to make a new offer for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic soon, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
He’s emerged as a top target for Jose Mourinho this summer and it seemed like we could have signed him for a cheaper fee as Inter were hoping to meet Financial Fair Play regulations last month, however, they were able to free up funds with smaller deals and were hoping to keep the Croatian.
That is why they put a €50/55 million price tag over his head, although Di Marzio claims even though Man United will make a new offer, it will not be at Inter’s current asking price.
There are reports that Perisic was hoping to push forward a move to Old Trafford as he’s told his agent he’s keen on playing in England under Mourinho, which would help United’s negotiations as Inter would have no choice but to sell an unhappy player.
They can’t be forced into selling Perisic, but if he clearly wants to leave the club then Inter would just look to make the best possible fee for his services.
Perisic is set to return to Inter next week for pre-season but it looks like a move could be on the cards.
