Paul Pogba has been enjoying a flashy holiday with Everton striker and Manchester United target Romelu Lukaku ahead of pre-season.
It has been known for some time that Lukaku, following another prolific campaign at Goodison Park, will move to a bigger club over the summer.
Paul Mariner recently revealed that Everton sporting director Steve Walsh had received bids from both Man United and Chelsea for the striker.
Pogba, who holidayed with the Belgian a year ago, has been seen with him once again in a video depicting their lucrative holiday in the United States.
The consensus has been for some time that Lukaku was destined for a return to his former club Chelsea. However, with Antonio Conte stalling on the move in light of uncertainty surrounding Diego Costa’s future and concurrently chasing after Tiemoue Bakayoko, Jose Mourinho could have a chance to step in, especially with the tantalising carrot of Wayne Rooney – now a potent figure of interest to Ronald Koeman – suddenly in the mix.
One clear stumbling block when it comes to Rooney will be his wages, and it has already been made clear that United will not help to fund a chunk of his salary to push a move through, but perhaps something can be worked out with Lukaku to make the economic windfall for Everton somewhat lighter once he does join.
