Chelsea have made an offer to match Manchester United’s bid for Romelu Lukaku, according to the Telegraph.
He was destined for a move to Stamford Bridge before Man United made a £75m offer to take him from Everton in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea will not match the agent fees Mino Raiola will get from Lukaku’s move to Old Trafford, leaving the Belgian with a difficult to decision to make over his future.
He must now decide whether to join Man United in the deal his agent created or go against Raiola to re-join Chelsea, even though he is currently training with Paul Pogba in Los Angeles as he was said to be ready to join the squad whey they flew out to LA on Sunday for the pre-season tour.
Chelsea still believe Lukaku would rather re-sign for them and feel he will make a decision based on what is best for him at this time in his career.
It’s a difficult choice to make and it remains to be seen if he’ll go ahead with the planned United medical and complete a move to Old Trafford.
He’s got his options laid out and it’ll be interesting to see where his future lies.
