Eric Bailly has been pictured in good spirits at Carrington ahead of Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States this month.
The Ivorian enjoyed a sensational debut campaign under Jose Mourinho, establishing himself as indispensable alongside Marcos Rojo, but missed out on the Europa League final through suspension.
Man United jet off to Los Angeles on Sunday ahead of a frantic 28 day schedule comprising of eight games in eight different cities, ending with Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup.
And Bailly has taken to Instagram to express his enthusiasm ahead of the tour.
The 23-year-old will only need to look across to the suddenly hollow figure of Chris Smalling to realise that, at this level, anybody can endure a potentially terminal slump in form.
Bailly looked instantly at home from the moment United kicked off against Leicester City last August, seemingly in his element amid the vicissitudes of Premier League football.
And yet, the same could have been said about the Englishman – now set for a move away – not so long ago. Good form can look natural and unbreakable, but the Ivorian needs to keep in mind the potential frailty of success at the top. He will need to apply himself even more to maintain the standards set last year.
