Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that Manchester United have reached an agreement with Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic for him to make the move this summer.
However, both clubs are yet to meet on a fee even though personal terms have been agreed as Inter hope to get in the region of €50million for his services.
Man United are unwilling to go so high for Perisic as the 28-year-old waits for his future to be decided, Jose Mourinho would have wanted a deal to be completed earlier as he thought he’d be able to sign him on a cheap while Inter had to make up funds for Financial Fair Play restrictions, but after the making the money in smaller deals they are not obliged to sell him.
Although Inter can’t be forced into selling him, Perisic could force through a move to Old Trafford which would give United the bargaining power when it comes to agreeing on a fee.
The club would have wanted to avoid a saga but it just goes to show how badly Inter want to keep hold of Perisic as a player who is fundamental to their plans moving forward.
