Wayne Rooney thanks Manchester United supporters after Everton move

Wayne Rooney has sent a message to Manchester United supporters after making his move back to Everton 13 years after making the Old Trafford switch.

He’s gone on to achieve so much during his time at Old Trafford after winning everything possible at a club level and breaking Sir Bobby Charlton’s all-time goalscoring record.

However, he hasn’t been the same in recent years and had lost his automatic starter status for club and country but it seems lifting the Europa League trophy would be the best way to see out his career.

Here’s what he had to say to Man United fans.

He had plenty of options during the summer but opted for a move to Everton as he didn’t want to unsettle his family after previously naming Everton as the only other team he would play for in the Premier League.

Rooney has done so well at United and had reached a level which not many other players will ever find achievable, especially in today’s football with players leaving clubs after a few years rather than building a legacy and leaving memories as he has blessed us with.
