Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is wanted by Leeds United this summer – report

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has emerged as a target for Championship side Leeds United this summer, according to reports.

The 20-year-old made his senior Manchester United debut back in November 2015 and went on to impress at full-back in games against Liverpool and Chelsea under Louis van Gaal, making 14 appearances in total.

He endured a turbulent loan spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers last season and was recalled to Old Trafford after Jose Mourinho grew frustrated at the lack of game time being handed his way.

And according to ESPN‘s Rob Dawson, new Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen wants to sign the Englishman either on loan or on a permanent basis.

Borthwick-Jackson’s Man United career appears to be in an awkward state of limbo. Mourinho, just like the rest of us, sees the talent lying behind the full-back’s nonchalant visage, noting that he had a future at Old Trafford last summer and immediately jettisoning his loan spell last year when he saw things weren’t going to plan.

And yet, as his omission from the pre-season tour suggests, he finds himself gloomily lurking on the very fringes at this given time, and a loan spell elsewhere could be the only thing capable of once again propelling him to first team contention at United.
