He spent the last season on loan at Sunderland and although many thought he’d re-find his form under David Moyes at Sunderland, he still only managed one goal in 28 games.
The Belgian had not started a first-team game for United since August 2015, having also failed on loan at Borussia Dortmund for just four months.
They publicly questioned Januzaj’s desire and attitude following the failed loan move and he now seems set on leaving Old Trafford after completing a Real Sociedad medical.
His attitude was also questioned whilst he was playing for United’s U21s at the time, trying to score from corners and just disrespecting his opponents with a lack of effort.
It’s a shame because he was destined for big things at Old Trafford, taking over Ryan Giggs’ number when he signed a five-year contract until 2018, but it doesn’t seem like he’ll even be able to see out his contract as he’s on the verge of completing a move to the Spanish side.
