Inter Milan director hints Ivan Perisic deal could be sweetened with a Manchester United player

Inter Milan director Walter Sabatini has re-affirmed Manchester United’s interest in Ivan Perisic and hinted that a cash plus player swap could be something which persuades the Italian side to let go of Perisic.

Man United have been involved in long negotiations this summer over the price of Perisic but with Sabatini re-affirming Inter will not be swayed on the price they want for the Croatian winger, it sounds like the route of including a United player in the deal could be the game changer:

The interesting addition here is Sabatini hinting that if United were to include a player as part of the deal, it would make it more interesting for Inter:

Who could that player be? No doubt Inter will be sniffing around Anthony Martial but they can dream on. The same goes for Matteo Darmian, a player who Jose Mourinho considers crucial to his squad.

Phil Jones? Chris Smalling? Marouane Fellaini? There are a few players in this squad I feel United could cope without and if that’s what will get Perisic over the line, let’s get it done. It’s an odd one though as player plus cash swaps, or player swaps directly, are rare in modern football but Inter have obviously got their eye on someone.
