Manchester United fans had mixed feelings on Romelu Lukaku’s debut against LA Galaxy in the opening game of the pre-season tour of America.
The Belgian came on in the second-half and followed Marcus Rashford, who found a goal within the opening two minutes and then another goal later on in the 20th minute.
Although he didn’t find a goal, Lukaku still timed his runs perfectly in the second-half, running alongside Henrikh Mkhitaryan to open more space for the Armenian’s goal and once against for Anthony Martial‘s goal later on in the game.
Here’s what supporters on social media had to say about his performance.
Lukaku looks really new. Learning a new system, formation and basic role.

Lukaku really needs a goal to settle his nerves.

Decent performance, good work out, Lukaku not involved too much, should've scored with the chance he had but it's only pre season

Disappointing to concede the two goals at the end there and for Lukaku not to get his debut goal but it's only the first match #MUFC

Even though it’s disappointing that he didn’t instantly settle in, as we’ve seen from Victor Lindelof, there are still things to work on for Lukaku, but pre-season is the perfect time to do so.
Lukaku will be working hard on familiarising himself with the players at United and there’s no doubting the fact that once he re-finds his form, he has the potential to become an incredible player with some guidance from Jose Mourinho.
