Inter Milan boss confirms Ivan Perisic will play in pre-season tour

Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti has confirmed the club intends to play Ivan Perisic on their pre-season tour, despite the intense speculation linking him with a move away.

Perisic is of course on Manchester United’s wanted list but having rejected a €45m + €5m bonuses offer from Man United, the Croatian winger remains an Inter player although his transfer could still happen.

Despite that, Spalletti intends to use Perisic and risk a potential injury which would of course end any move to United at the right price.

Speaking out in China, Spalletti said: “This is a tournament that will test our psychological aspects, because we are playing against several strong teams. Certainly, at the technical level, it could be risky, but what interests me is seeing the personalities of my players.

“I am certain that I will not change the whole squad at half-time, as I want to start giving longer minutes for my players.

“Perisic? He will play because he did not play in the friendlies at Brunico”

“It has not been an easy transfer market, but I am satisfied of the work from the directors. We have great quality and we do not have to rush into any decisions.”

Usually when it comes to players who are linked with moves away, the club in question pulls them out of any games so they don’t risk any injury which could stop a deal from happening. Inter have decided not to take that risk.

We’ll continue to follow the Perisic story as it develops but unless the Italian side pull out any demand of having Anthony Martial being part of the deal, then nothing will happen.
