Jose Mourinho confirms Manchester United want to sign two more players

Jose Mourinho has confirmed Manchester United are looking to sign a midfield player and an attacking player through the wings in the summer transfer window.

The Portuguese boss has had a hard time this summer, with Real Madrid and Inter Milan playing hardball for fees for Alvaro Morata and Ivan Perisic, but it seems a deal could be close to complete.

He claimed earlier in the week that he could be forced to settle for only one new player this transfer window, but it seems he’s confident Ed Woodward can deliver on two more, to hopefully complete his vital four signings for this summer.

Speaking in his press conference, Mourinho confirmed the stance on new transfers.

“I’m happy with my squad but I would like to have two more players, I never hide that, one player a midfield player would give me more options to the balance and the team,” he said.

“Another one an attacking player, especially that can play through the wings to give me more attacking options but I never speak about players that belong to other teams.

“I don’t like if any manager comes and would say he would like one of my players, that’s not correct. I would like two more players but probably I only get one.”

Mourinho would have wanted his players on the pre-season tour to get them adapted to a move, but they may be forced to settle for the new Premier League season as time is running out.

It seems the winger Mourinho is talking about is Perisic, and the midfielder is unidentifiable as United have been linked with many midfielders in the last week, with moves for Nemanja Matic and Eric Dier looking more likely than the others.
