David de Gea has shared his thoughts on being named the best goalkeeper in the world at Manchester United.

The Spaniard has been incredible at Old Trafford and has been continuously linked with a move to Real Madrid after his move collapsed in the closing hours of transfer deadline day in 2015.

He has been happy with the progress Man United have made since Jose Mourinho has taken over and is looking forward to seeing what the Portuguese boss has to offer next season, especially as United are now challenging in the Champions League once again.

“Really proud when people think that it’s really good,” he said.

“I like to keep my focus and training hard and try my best.”

De Gea is irreplaceable at United and Mourinho has done very well to swat of Real interest as the Spaniard now seems focused on the new season at Old Trafford, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata have been convincing De Gea to stay at the club and it seems that it’s paid off.

Finding a replacement for De Ge in the current market would have been a nightmare as United would have paid a substantial fee for someone who isn’t as good in between the sticks and following his saves against Barcelona, he once again showcased why he is regarded as the best in the world.
