Manchester City midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan, believes Manchester United have done great business in the summer transfer window.
Jose Mourinho has signed Romelu Lukaku from Everton and Victor Lindelof from Benfica, however, has confirmed he’s hoping to secure the services of two more players before the end of the window.
The side had a deal for Alvaro Morata stalled by Real Madrid and are still trying to lure Ivan Perisic to Old Trafford with Inter Milan unwilling to come away from their €50m valuation for the winger.
Speaking about the side, Gundogan believes United will provide Manchester City with great competition.
”Hopefully us. We will definitely try [to win the league],” he said.
“We will try to do our best and achieve all of our targets and hopefully lift the trophy.
“United did a good job by signing [Romelu] Lukaku. They have a good team… a young team as well.
“They are strong, really physical, so they seem to be better than last year.
“It’s obvious who the big teams in England are… and who are the competitors for the Premier League title.”
United have done well so far, but Mourinho will be disappointed that Ed Woodward hasn’t been able to wrap the deals up, as the new players have missed on a great time to adapt to a move.
There’s a big season ahead in the Premier League and Champions Leauge, and if United are to reach maximum potential, then they need to fill the gaps before the end of the window.
