Manchester United must pay around £48m to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan, according to Sky Sports.
The Croation has been Jose Mourinho’s top target throughout the summer window as the Portuguese boss was hoping to sign him on a cheap while Inter had to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
However, after raising funds through smaller deals, Inter have been determined to keep their star asset, valuing Perisic at around £48m with the only chance of lower the fee is with taking Anthony Martial on loan a part of the deal.
Speaking about the deal on Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre, Sheth claimed Inter have a new price for the player.
“Talking of Manchester United and their hopes of signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan. Have they improved?” he said.
“Well Inter coach Luciano Spalletti wants the player to remain but gave an indication Perisic wants to move to Old Trafford.
“Spalletti is quoted as saying ‘we want him to stay but we have to consider the opinion of the club’ and listen to this ‘and the player’.
“It’s thought an offer of around £48m would tempt Inter Milan to sell Perisic to Manchester United.”
Jose Mourinho has stated that he has been left disappointed with United’s lack of progress in the window, following Real Madrid playing hardball for Alvaro Morata and now Inter for Perisic.
It all remains on how much Ed Woodward would like to pay and with Martial out of the deal, a move for Perisic is looking more unlikely.
