Nemanja Matic has undergone a medical at Manchester United’s Carrington training ground ahead of a potential move from Chelsea, according to reports.
He will become Jose Mourinho’s third signing this summer, after the arrival of Victor Lindelof from Benfica and Romelu Lukaku from Everton.
A move is expected to be worth around £40million, with Matic pictured in a grey Manchester United training kit on social media this afternoon.
Man United are expected to confirm their new signing tomorrow, but it seems Mourinho has finally landed his man after their time together at Chelsea.
The club wanted him to make his debut in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid on August 8, however, we may see him in the friendly with Sampdoria in Dublin on Wednesday.
Mourinho had been looking for a long-term replacement for 36-year-old holding midfielder Michael Carrick, and it seems like he’s set for the new season.
He still has one more player to sign this summer in Ivan Perisic, but with Inter Milan playing hardball, it remains to be seen if a deal can be wrapped up, with the Portuguese boss previously confirming he could be forced to accept only three signings this summer.
