Manchester United are closing in on the signing Jose Mourinho believes is the key to the Premier League title, Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, according to reports.
The Portuguese boss has been urging vice-chairman Ed Woodward to get a deal over the line even though Inter are demanding close to £48m for his services.
He was initially hoping to sign Perisic on a cheap as Inter were looking to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations at the start of the window, however, after raising the funds through smaller deals, they have showcased their intent to keep hold of their star asset.
It’s clear just how much Inter want him to stay, but it looks like Mourinho could land all four of his summer targets with Nemanja Matic also making the move from Chelsea in a deal worth around £40m.
Inter boss Luciano Spalletti insisted yesterday that the conversation is over when it comes to any deal, however, money talks and United are closing in on Perisic, they’ve also done well to keep Anthony Martial out of the deal as Inter were insistent on keeping the Frenchman as part of the trade.
