Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
He had also attracted interest from the likes of Juventus, however, was keen on a reunion with Jose Mourinho as the Portuguese boss evidently rates him very highly.
Mourinho splashed out £40million to bring Matic to Old Trafford and it’ll just get better at United if he’s able to re-find the form from his first 18 months back at Stamford Bridge following his return from Benfica.
Matic can win possession and drive the ball forwards, but it’s clear Mourinho has gone out for a midfielder who will lock down the centre of the park and give Paul Pogba the freedom to become more creative in his role.

Mourinho believes he can get the best out of Matic once again with the experience he possesses, he should be able to play a vital role at Old Trafford even though he turns 29 on Tuesday.
Matic will add to a strong spine of David de Gea, Eric Bailly, Pogba and Romelu Lukaku at 6ft 4in, and he’ll be hoping to take over from Michael Carrick, who is now 36 with more of a presence in leadership terms.
It’s a massive boost ahead of the new season as United look to make their mark in the Champions League and Premier League, and Mourinho has previously insisted he’s still expecting one more signing this summer, who is believed to be Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
