Manchester United are expected to announce the signing of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic today, reports Simon Stone from the BBC.

Matic, 29, will become Man United’s third summer signing and the first player to move directly between Chelsea and United under the tenure of former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
United desperately needed to sign a new defensive midfielder this summer and there were plenty available in the market including Matic as well as the likes of AS Monaco’s Fabinhho and Tiemoue Bakayoko, but Mourinho has opted to re-sign a player he brought back to Chelsea in 2014.
The fact Mourinho will have signed Matic twice indicates just how much he likes the Serbian midfielder and he’s certainly going to be an upgrade on our current midfield options, whether or not you feel he was the midfielder we should have signed.
An announcement is expected in the coming hours for Matic and regardless of whether he was who I wanted to strengthen our defensive midfield options, I’m just happy we have.
