AC Milan keen on signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic – report

AC Milan want to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic once he returns from injury in January, according to reports.

The Swede was officially released by the club in June after he damaged his knee ligaments – from which he aims to return by November – back in April against Anderlecht.

He has rejected advances from LA Galaxy and Jose Mourinho has hinted at offering the 35-year-old a short term contract once he makes a full recovery.

But according to the Mail Online‘s Ben Grounds, AC Milan will look to compete with Man United over the striker’s signature in January.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, with Zlatan’s only output this summer being a series of typically Zlatan-esque Instagram posts, but you sense that, even with a Europa League medal round his neck, the Swede has unfinished business at Old Trafford.

He continues to undergo his rehabilitation process at Carrington and is still notably considered as part of the United squad by Paul Pogba.

More importantly, perhaps, Mourinho clearly wants to work with him further after witnessing such a powerful onslaught last season, and with United looking to assert themselves on the Premier League next season the striker will know that opportunities will be there for him to take.
