Gianluca Di Marzio insists Manchester United have cooled their interest in Ivan Perisic and have not made another attempt to sign him.
Jose Mourinho initially identified Perisic as a player Man United could sign on a cheap with Inter hoping to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, however, after raising the funds through a number of smaller deals, the Serie A club have shown their intent to keep hold of their star asset.
Inter have stuck to their guns and have refused to move away from their unjustifiable valuation of around €55 for Perisic, with the only exception if Anthony Martial is included in a deal to go the other way.
They have proven very hard negotiators and it’s the reason why a deal had still not been met even though United were hoping to get it sorted before Inter flew out to their pre-season tour of China.
He has in fact impressed in Asia, but it’s a shame Mourinho may not land his man as the Portuguese boss has confirmed he may be forced into only accepting three new arrivals this summer because of the current market.
A move still could happen but it’s looking increasingly unlikely as time goes on because he will be offered a new improved contract to stay at the San Siro ahead of next campaign.
