Jose Mourinho would like two full backs and another midfielder at Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to Independent’s Miguel Delaney.
The Portuguese boss was delighted with the addition of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea, who was his top priority for the summer beyond signing a primary centre-forward.
Matic was crucial to his plans, however, he still doesn’t have complete satisfaction as Mourinho believes United should have been able to complete most of the business before the US tour to give him time to let the players adapt.
Mourinho likes Jesse Lingard as a useful player but understands it’s a position which can be upgraded, which is why the Portuguese boss has been left frustrated with Inter Milan in the current situation of Ivan Perisic.
Both clubs still think a deal will eventually happen but it won’t stop the Portuguese boss from hoping he can get a few more players underneath his belt ahead of a big season in the Champions League and Premier League.
If Mourinho had his way, he would still bring that extra attacker and two full-backs, but it probably won’t happen as United would need to offload more players to afford deals.
