Jose Mourinho has not been deterred in his hope of bringing Real Madrid star Gareth Bale to Manchester United this summer, according to reports.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly not been deterred in his pursuit of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

He declared his interest in the Welshman before the game against Real Madrid in the Super Cup, claiming he’d attempt to sign him if he didn’t start the game.

However, after playing a role for Real, Mourinho publically stated it was game over as it was clear the Spanish club wanted to keep hold of him.

Reports now claim he privately remains confident of completing a deal and has even asked Ed Woodward to make the funds available.

Mourinho has been told Bale could be available if Real are given enough time to bring in a replacement before the end of the transfer window.

Bale himself insisted he was happy in Spain and was unmoved by any speculation, focused on proving himself and getting the season started.

The Portuguese boss claim Mourinho is ready to hand him a £500,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford, with hopes that a look at the numbers will tempt him to make the move back to the Premier League.

It’s not like any party would confirm their stance in a move even if it was taking place, but a move remains to be seen as actions and reports seem to be contrasting.
