Jose Mourinho insists Anthony Martial has been encouraging at Manchester United this season, claiming his performances have been brilliant so far.
The Portuguese boss has guided his side to two dominating 4-0 victories over West Ham United and Swansea City.
Although he has only played for around 25 minutes this season, Martial has still managed two assists and two goals, kicking off the new campaign in brilliant form.
Speaking about his form, Mourinho claims Martial has done well but there’s still plenty of time left.
“This is encouraging reading for the Martial enthusiasts after Saturday’s performance. He’s got two in two now,” he said.
“We are using him well and he’s coming with the right attitude and we had conversation about the future he has here,” said Mourinho.
“I think he has a good connection on the pitch with Paul and Romelu. It’s coming, it’s growing in confidence. And, of course, two periods of 20 minutes and he scored two goals.”
Mourinho claimed it was easy to resist the temptation to start with Martial, however, it the Frenchman merits a place in the starting line-up, especially in his current form.
He’s done everything he can to make his way back into the team and to say he hasn’t even been getting many minutes to build up match rhythm, has still been performing well.
