Nemanja Matic insists he’s very happy at Manchester United since his transfer from Chelsea this summer.
Jose Mourinho completed his £30m switch to Stamford Bridge and he has proven to be a bargain, with two dominating displays to kick off the new Premier League season against West Ham United and Swansea City.
He has been a standout performer, showcasing exactly why the Portuguese boss has purchased him twice at two different clubs as he instantly settles in at Old Trafford.
Speaking about the dressing room, Matic claims spirits are high.
“I’m happy to be here, I really enjoy it. We are all friends in the changing room and that’s very important,” he said.
“The season is long, we have a great squad and good communication. I’m happy to be part of this. This is just the beginning but I am confident. It was important for our confidence not to concede a goal.
“When you do that, it means you’re concentrated and that you fight for every ball. If you defend well in attack, you will always have some opportunities during the 90 minutes. I’m happy we used four of them.”
He’s been sensational at Old Trafford and there’s doubting the fact that he has a vital role to play, especially as he hopes to free Paul Pogba of his defensive duties.
