Valencia closing in on a move for Andreas Pereira on loan – report

Valencia are closing in on a move to sign Andreas Pereira on loan this summer, according to reports.

The decision to make the move or stay on at Old Trafford will be largely down to the player as Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he would like Pereira to remain with United’s first-team squad this season.

He accepts that game time will likely be limited and dependant on progression in cup competitions as the Portuguese boss has a healthy squad of players.

Valencia are keen to land Pereira as he spent last year on loan at Granada, encountering the short reign of Tony Adams during his time in Spain.

Mourinho has been impressed with Pereira during the pre-season tour and gave him the No 15 shirt for this term as he looked to play a part.

Pereira has shown his ability to slot back into the squad, leaving a lasting impression following his performances on the tour but he has to make a decision on whether he wants more game time this year or will be looking to impress Mourinho when he is given chances to shine.
