Manchester United have expressed “significant interest” in signing Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, according to Sky Sports.
Jose Mourinho has kept a close eye on the Englishman ever since he made his debut for the Cottagers aged 16 against Leyton Orient last season.
He made 30 appearances in all competitions last season, claiming seven goals before becoming top scorer for the England Under 19s during their triumphant European Championship campaign in Georgia over the summer.
And according to sources at Sky Sports, United will rival Tottenham Hotspur for the 17-year-old’s signature if Fulham’s stance over the youngster changes.
The report also states that Mourinho would be willing to loan the teenager back to Craven Cottage for the season after he completed the switch to Old Trafford.
Sessegnon is valued at around £25m, but Fulham owner Shahid Khan will not consider selling him under any circumstances at this given time.
The teenager has enjoyed a truly seminal twelve months, asserting himself as a first team regular in the Championship and impressing many with his tenacious, versatile style. He can play anywhere on the left hand side and, as seen over the summer, has a keen eye for goal.
Fulham will not want to let such a promising youngster slip from their grasp just yet, but Mourinho will undoubtedly continue to monitor his progress this season.
