Zlatan Ibrahimovic takes 200k-a-week Manchester United pay cut

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has taken a 200k-a-week pay cut by joining Manchester United again before the end of the summer transfer window, according to reports.

He has gone from 350k to 125k with his new contract as he hopes to stay at Old Trafford and make an impact with Jose Mourinho.

The big Swede was on a basic pay packet worth £19.11million a year last season and with 28 goals last campaign, he banked an extra £2.86m – meaning his overall earnings hit £21.97m.

However, his wages this year are significantly lower even though he could land millions in bonuses as payments have been negotiated into his contract by Mino Raiola.

He was forced out last season with a serious knee injury and although he was ruled out until the new year, will be back in around October as he’s worked exceptionally hard on his rehabilitation.

There were doubts Zlatan even had what it takes to perform in England but after showing he has the ability to perform on the main stage, I can’t wait to see him back in a United shirt because he oozes everything the badge stands for, on and off the pitch.
